Middle School Classes
In-person or Online
These classes are designed to inspire students to learn more about the world around them, to seek answers to questions, and to foster a love of learning of scientific principles. Students will gain a strong foundation in basic scientific principles that will prepare them for high school science as they study earth science, physical science, and health science.

Students will be challenged with questions that will spark interest, cause them to wonder how things work, and to use their critical thinking skills to understand scientific principles. Students will have fun with hands-on experiences as they learn about the rocks underneath their feet to the rocks in space; from large forces like gravity to small forces that hold together a nucleus; from the many systems within our body to living a healthy lifestyle. All of these areas of science will help students understand the world around them, and understand themselves and how their bodies work, giving them a solid foundation before entering high school, and helping them to see the joy of understanding science.
MS Earth Science
We'll explore various aspects of the earth: fossils and rock types, tectonic plates and volcanoes, oceans and rivers, ecosystems and biomes, atmosphere and weather, and renewable versus non-renewable resources. Our earth is an incredible place to live, and we will creatively explore its wonders, and discover amazing qualities of our planet, as well as learn about ways we can protect its resources for future generations.
MS Health Science
We have amazing bodies. We'll explore all our different systems in the body, learn the basic bones and muscles, and discover how are bodies work in concert with many different systems, so we can run, sweat, blink, heal wounds, fight off sickness, react to a hot stove, and do so many amazing things. We'll also discuss ways to optimize our health with healthy foods, quality sleep, and consistent exercise, so we can fight off infections and live a happy, energetic lifestyle.
MS Physical Science
We'll study astronomy and astrophysics, learning about our solar system, the Milky Way, our universe and how we know it is expanding. We'll have fun with activities related to energy and motion, mass and weight, Newton's laws, light and sound waves, force and work, and gravity. We'll also explore magnets, electricity, and electromagnets. With many fun activities, we'll add depth to your understanding of physical science.
MS Science Club
Students will discover science in many hands-on engaging activities which will give exposure to all areas of science. Specific interests of students will be explored and basic scientific concepts studied. Many group projects will help develop leadership skills, encourage teamwork, and give the kids a fun environment to make messes, use critical thinking skills, and explore new topics in ways that promote group discussion.
