Chemistry
(Available 2024-2025)
This class creates a broad understanding of chemistry by studying basic concepts, encouraging critical thinking, and seeking application to chemistry principles. Students need to have completed pre-algebra to help with basic conversions. Chemistry is all around us, and by studying atoms and their structure, students learn how materials are made. We have fun chemistry experiments that may explode or stink, some useful in our everyday lives, but all help explain concepts studied to help solidify our knowledge of chemistry concepts. Food chemistry is also a fun aspect of this class that explains why we cook or bake the way we do. This class will challenge you, but is also so rewarding in the amount of knowledge you gain about the world around us.
