Zoom Class offered 2024-2025
For students 10 to 14 years old
"Let's Build It!"
This class will spark creativity as we problem solve different scenarios. Students will need to build projects to find solutions to problems given. We’ll be learning laws of physics to build bridges that help the flow of traffic, we’ll be learning about the physics of electricity to build a radio that helps when communications are down, and we’ll be learning about electromagnets and building cars of a new era that have no friction. Many hands-on activities will be built in class (some may need to be brought home at times) to ignite creativity and innovation. Group work will also be done to build larger projects that work on communication skills, listening skills, and cooperation.
Class materials will be mailed per semester. Some household supplies may be needed, but will be known at least 1 week in advance.
How does Zoom Class Work?
Each semester, students will receive a box in the mail for each week's activities. There may be certain things you will need to print, or common household items to be used, but those will be noted in an email each week prior to class.

Students will be on Zoom for 1 hour. Have supplies ready and available before class begins. After class an email will be sent sharing what students learned, sharing videos to watch for the following week, and a discussion question to be discussed, and not googled, as a family.

There will be opportunities for students to research a certain topic and come prepared to share what they have learned. Nothing is required, but gives students an opportunity to research and share things they've learned about certain subjects we are covering.

Finally, we'll have a "Final Presentation Night" in the spring. It will be an opportunity for kids to share things they've learned, and come together on Zoom as families to celebrate what students have accomplished this year.

Join us for a fun year of Let's Build It!
